Togly respects your privacy. This Privacy Policy explains how Togly collects, uses, stores, processes and shares information when you use the Togly mobile application and related services.
- Information We Collect
Account and Profile Information
When you create or use a Togly account, we may process information such as your email address, authentication identifier, display name, profile photo, birthday, city, country and other information you choose to provide.
Relationship Information
Togly is designed for couples and may process information relating to your relationship, including partner connections, relationship status, dates such as when your relationship began, shared activities and other relationship-related information you choose to provide.
User-Generated Content
Depending on the features you use, Togly may store content that you create or upload, including messages, Love Notes, relationship check-ins, goals, calendar events, memories, photos, videos, voice recordings, Love Treasure content, reactions and other content shared through the app.
Content intended for your connected partner may be made available to that partner as part of the functionality you choose to use.
Location Data
Togly may access and process approximate and precise location data to provide location-based relationship features.
Location information may be used to determine your approximate city or country, calculate distance between connected partners, provide Live Travel Tracking and Return Tracking, calculate travel progress and determine arrival status during an active journey.
When you explicitly enable Live Travel or Return Tracking, Togly may collect precise location data while the app is open, running in the background, closed or not actively in use.
Background location access is used only to allow an active journey to continue updating while you are travelling.
Live location tracking only runs for an active journey for which tracking has been enabled. Tracking stops when the journey ends, tracking is disabled, location permission is withdrawn or the relevant travel state is no longer active.
Your connected partner does not receive or see your raw precise GPS coordinates. Togly instead provides derived information such as distance, travel progress, arrival status and, where applicable, approximate location information such as city or country.
Togly does not sell precise location data and does not use precise location data for advertising.
You can deny or revoke location permissions at any time through your device settings. Location-based features may not function when the required permission is unavailable.
Device, Technical and Diagnostic Information
Togly may process technical information necessary to operate, secure and improve the service, such as device information, app version, operating system information, push notification identifiers, diagnostic information, crash reports and app usage information.
- How We Use Information
We use information processed through Togly to provide and maintain the app and its features, authenticate users, connect partners, synchronize shared relationship features, deliver notifications, calculate relationship and travel information, provide location-based features when enabled, protect accounts and prevent abuse, diagnose technical problems and improve the reliability and performance of the service.
We do not sell personal or sensitive user data.
- Sharing and Visibility of Information
Togly does not make private account information publicly available unless a feature explicitly requires it or you choose to share it.
Certain information and content may be visible to your connected partner when this is necessary for the feature you use. This may include profile information, shared relationship information, memories, goals, calendar events, check-ins, Love Notes, media and derived travel information.
Raw precise GPS coordinates used for Live Travel or Return Tracking are not shown to the connected partner.
Information may also be processed by service providers acting on behalf of Togly as necessary to provide, secure and maintain the service.
- Third-Party Services and Service Providers
Togly uses Google Firebase and Google Cloud services to provide technical infrastructure for the application.
These services may include:
Firebase Authentication for account authentication.
Firebase Firestore for storing and synchronizing application data.
Firebase Storage for storing photos, videos, voice recordings and other user-generated media.
Firebase Cloud Functions and Google Cloud infrastructure for secure server-side processing.
Firebase Cloud Messaging for push notifications.
Firebase Analytics for understanding app usage and improving the service.
Firebase Crashlytics for identifying crashes, errors and technical problems.
These service providers may process information as necessary to provide their services to Togly and are subject to their own privacy and security obligations.
- Data Security
We use reasonable technical and organizational measures designed to protect personal information against unauthorized access, alteration, disclosure or destruction.
Sensitive information is transmitted using secure connections and access to backend systems is restricted.
No method of electronic transmission or storage can be guaranteed to be completely secure.
- Data Retention
We retain information only for as long as reasonably necessary to provide Togly, maintain security, meet legal obligations and fulfil the purposes described in this Privacy Policy.
User-generated content and account information are generally retained while the account exists unless the user deletes specific content or requests account deletion.
Certain anonymized or aggregated information that no longer identifies an individual may be retained for statistical, security or operational purposes.
Information may also be retained where required by applicable law, fraud prevention, security requirements or the establishment, exercise or defence of legal claims.
- Account and Data Deletion
Users can request deletion of their Togly account and associated personal data at any time.
Users can delete their account directly within the Togly app.
Users who no longer have access to the app may also request account deletion by contacting support@gettogly.com using the email address associated with their account.
When an account deletion request is completed, Togly will permanently delete the account and associated personal data that is not required to be retained for legitimate legal or security reasons.
This may include profile information, relationship information, messages and user-generated content, photos and media files, location-related information and interaction history.
Account deletion requests are processed within 30 days.
Where information must be retained for legal, security or regulatory purposes, only the information necessary for that purpose will be retained for the required period.
After deletion, the account and deleted data cannot be restored.
- Your Choices and Controls
You can control certain information through the app and through your device settings.
You may revoke location, camera, microphone or notification permissions through your device settings. Revoking a permission may prevent the related feature from functioning.
Live Travel and Return Tracking are optional and require explicit activation and the necessary device permissions.
You may also delete certain content within the app where the relevant feature provides this option.
- Children’s Privacy
Togly is not intended for children who are not permitted under applicable law to use the service or consent to the processing of their personal information.
We do not knowingly collect personal information from children in violation of applicable law.
- Changes to This Privacy Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy when Togly, its features, legal requirements or our data practices change.
The updated version will be published on this page and the “Last updated” date will be changed accordingly.
